Editorial Highlights the Benefits of Open-Access Publishing, Data Sharing

An editorial in the European Journal of Neuroscience highlights the benefits of open-access publish and data sharing to careers in neuroscience. It is featured in a virtual issue of the journal focused on advice to early career neuroscients and is written by three members of the FENS-Kavli Network of Excellence, a cohort of young independent European neuroscience investigators. The article discusses data-sharing efforts in neuroscience, including common data formats such as Neurodata Without Borders, as well as the benefits and costs to early career researchers of engaging in open science.
